NEK Audubon trip: Southern Maine Coast
December 9, 2007

With almost no wind, the Atlantic Ocean was unusually calm providing some of the best viewing of wintering ducks and divers. As many as 100 Harlequin Ducks were sighted (some male and female engaged in courtship behavior). Long-tailed Ducks were especially plentiful and many of us were able to enjoy the best looks ever of this species. and hear their vocalizations.
